Hi All,

I know I can get the number of rows from a query action

But how do I get the number of rows that are available in a query template

I have a complex query in a template action that can take several seconds. I am using pagination and need to know the number of rows that will be returned.

Currently I am performing the query twice, once in a query and later in a query template but that can take too long

I know I could amend my code to just use the query action but that means a complete rewrite so I'm hoping I can access the Template to get the number of rows

Anyone have a clue

Thanks

Tony

Hi Tony,

Adski put a configuration up in this thread which I have used in many configurations.

Hope it helps

Hi Barry,

I also use that configuration (thanks btw Adski)

However it seems that he too uses a query to find the number of rows.

I want to know if I can access the number of rows to be returned in a query template as easily as it is using a query action

Which is [myQueryName.Rows,Action]

Hi Tony, I've just tried

[TOTALRECORDS,System]

and it seems to return the rows in the template query.
